Inkzi 墨語紀

FAQ

What is Inkzi?

Inkzi connects Traditional Chinese writing with contextual explanations, human recordings and four writing modes.

Who is it for?

Primarily adult learners overseas who want to practice Traditional Chinese or connect reading with writing. There are no separate child, teacher or school plans.

Can I start with no Chinese knowledge?

Explore themes through the English interface, listen, watch and try tracing. Inkzi is not a complete beginner course covering pronunciation, grammar and graded tests; it can complement other foundational learning.

Traditional or Simplified Chinese?

Learning materials use Traditional Chinese. English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese are interface options; switching the interface does not convert the curriculum.

Must I complete the modes in order?

No. Choose the mode you need without passing another mode first.

How do FOLLOW and TRACE differ?

FOLLOW lets you write freely alongside a moving demonstration. TRACE keeps a faded character as a visual reference.

Will mistakes lose points?

No. There is no writing score or required test. Clear your strokes and try again.

Must I follow the demonstrated stroke order?

Stroke order is a guide. You can practice with your own stroke order. Inkzi does not provide stroke-order exams or professional calligraphy assessment.

What if the demonstration is too fast?

Adjust the speed or replay it. FOLLOW does not require keeping up. TRACE keeps a faded reference for slower practice.

Does Inkzi score or correct pronunciation?

No. Recordings are listening references. Speech recognition, pronunciation correction and speaking scores are not provided.

Can I use a phone, tablet or computer?

Inkzi is web-based with a focus on phones. Device and browser acceptance testing is ongoing. Report your device, browser and page if you encounter an issue.

Do I need an app? Can I learn offline?

Inkzi currently has a web version, not a separate native app or complete offline learning. Stay connected to the internet.

Will my progress sync across devices?

Verified persistent cross-device progress sync is not yet available. Do not treat a screen or temporary state as an account-synced learning record.

How long should I practice? How quickly will I learn?

Start with an expression or character at your own pace. Inkzi does not require a fixed duration or guarantee how many characters you will learn in a set time.
